Membership

If you want to become a member of our Club, come along to one of the playing moments. You can then play/train three times for free. All you need is sportswear, indoor sports shoes and a racket. Don’t have a racket yet? Then you can borrow one from us.

If you are enthusiastic, you can apply for membership of the Club by filling in the registration form. The form can be downloaded from our website www.bvlisse.com or requested from the membership administration:
Badmintonvereniging Lisse
Attn. Lisanne Mesman – membership administration
Email: leden@bvlisse.com

If you have any questions or would like to know when the best time is to come and watch or play, please send an email to voorzitter@bvlisse.com.

Points of attention

If you become a member of Badmintonvereniging Lisse, please take the following into account:

  • The club year (season) runs from August 1st to July 31st of any year;
  • Membership is entered into for an indefinite period;
  • Members are required to pay a contribution. The payment term for the contribution is 30 days after the invoice date. When this payment term expires, €10.00 (incasso/collection) costs will be charged on top of the contribution amount;
  • Members commit themselves for the entire season. If a member cannot use the playing facilities within the Club for a longer period (due to injury or force majeure), they can apply for a dormant membership (“slapend lidmaatschap”) in writing and with reasons to the Board. A dormant membership can only be applied for if they have not been able to use the playing facilities for more than two months. With the application for dormant membership, the member intends to start playing again. If the member cancels the membership after a period of dormant membership, the Board has the right to collect the contribution for this period. As soon as the member can use (or uses) the playing facilities again, the member must report this to the membership administration. A dormant member cannot use the playing facilities or play competitions. The Board decides in all cases whether a dormant membership is granted. Dormant members pay a one-off administration fee of € 5.00, plus the NBB association contribution applicable to the member;
  • Members must submit a passport photo to the membership administration for the purpose of the pass for the playing board;
  • Members must report a move or change of email address to the membership administration.

Ending a membership

Membership is entered into for an indefinite period. The following rules apply to the termination of membership:

  • The membership can only be cancelled in writing or by email, three months before the start of the new season (i.e. before 1 May), at the membership administration. Cancellation is possible in one of the following ways:
    • Badmintonvereniging Lisse
      Attn. Lisanne Mesman – ledenadministratie
      Darwinplantsoen 14
      2161 JM Lisse
    • Cancelling via the cancellation form
    • Email: leden@bvlisse.com
    • A membership cannot be cancelled via WhatsApp!
  • Cancellation is possible throughout the year, but only becomes effective after the end of the season;
  • If no cancellation is made before May 1st of any year, the member is automatically committed for the entire following season;
  • In exceptional cases, the Board may honor a written cancellation after May 1st. To do so, the member must cancel before August 1st and provide reasons for this request to terminate membership (in particular why the May 1st deadline could not be met). The Board will assess the cancellation and may impose conditions on a positive decision on the request. In addition to the conditions that the Board may impose, the Association is unfortunately always forced to charge €35.00 in administration costs before the start of the season. If you cancel in the new season, you will pay not only the administration costs but also for the number of months that you are late with canceling.

For example:

  • If you cancel your membership between May 1st and August 1st, you only need to pay €35,- administration costs
  • If you cancel your membership in September, you pay €35,- but also for the month of September.

Explanation

In the last three months of the club year, financial obligations are entered into for the following season; for example, the rent of the hall, hiring the trainers, club contributions, competition contributions and ordering shuttles. All of this is based on the number of members. That is why the Club is forced to set the above rules and to ensure strict compliance.
